Decarbonising for Good

Good Normal is passionate about Australia's future Making Good Normal

Making Good Normal

Good Normal exists to help Australian companies do what's right for our future. Our farms, mines, trucks, trains, shops, warehouses, data-centers and offices all need energy, supplies and resources, to provide goods and services in turn to their domestic and international clients.

As the whole planet moves away from fossil fuels and fossil carbon derived products over the next 2 to 3 decades, we will need to change the way we do things. In 2026, a third of Australia's export revenue is from fossil fuel, so we've seen various State and Federal Government initiatives to establish production of green energy export commodities such as green ammonia or green hydrogen*. But international commercial demand is not yet sufficient to support these initiatives.

Good Normal's focus is to start at home. We already need ammonia, and therefore hydrogen, for our own huge and important agricultural and mining sectors in Australia, so let's build some scale and experience here with in our own backyard. Once that becomes normal for us, then we can scale up even more to help the rest of the world to decarbonise.

Surrounded by this land of beauty & wonder that our Aboriginal and Torre-Strait Islander people have treasured for millennia, and blessed with a wealth of natural and renewable resources, Good Normal is here to help Australia build a sustainable future.

*A key ingredient in the decarbonisation of many hard-to-abate processes is renewable hydrogen or "green hydrogen", made using renewable electricity to split water into it's hydrogen and oxygen constituents. Most hydrogen is currently produced by a process called steam methane reforming, whereby hydrogen is split from natural gas molecules and the carbon is released into the atmosphere as CO2. Ammonia (NH3), an important chemical feedstock for fertiliser and other industries, is made by combining hydrogen with nitrogen from the air. When green hydrogen is used to produce the ammonia, it is referred to as "green ammonia".

What we do

Renewable hydrogen project development and engineering

Projects

Good Normal is currently undertaking pre-feasibility activities for renewable electricity generation, hydrogen electrolysis, ammonia and fertiliser production in the ~ 100,000tpa scale at strategic Australian locations.

Watch this space!

Project Development

Good Normal develops renewable energy and renewable hydrogen projects from concept to FID. This includes land access, permitting, FEED, grid connection, offtake agreements, stakeholder engagement, financial modelling, grant and debt funding.

Engineering

Good Normal specialises in chemical, process and mechanical engineering for hydrogen projects. Good Normal manages interdisciplinary engineering required for mid-scale infrastructure and chemical manufacturing facilities & major hazard facilities.
